The West End on Roatan is the place to live out the night. The stretch along
the beach has a wide variety of bars and clubs to fit any partiers needs. Read on for our review of some of the West End’s bars.
Many choose to start off the evening at Sundowners where, from March until October you can watch the sunset. The bar goes right down onto the beach, where you will oftentimes find a fire going with several other travelers sitting around enjoying a drink. Wednesday is the busy night here with the Chase the Ace jackpot running. Most people come here early in the evening, as the establishment closes early.
The Twisted Toucan is another popular spot to head to after Sundowners has closed. It’s a pretty wild bar, mixed with the craziest tourists and locals. The music is good and loud, and everyone, staff and owner included, get in on the dancing. Remember to tip well, and you’ll get full service at the bar. Happy Hour lasts for 3 hours, and is followed by Ladies Hour, both
of which feature half-priced drinks.
For some Fosters is the highlight of the night. This bar is located out on the water, and is at the end of the long road. For many it is the final destination of the night.
Also check out Foster’s End hotels on Roatan… anyone know if they are related to the bar? I know both are excellent, but I never thought to ask if they were connected. Visit the Fosters web-site for more information on the hotel.
If you still are looking for more in the wee hours of the morning, try FUBAR, on the far end of West End, toward West Bay, near to Luna Beach. This place really starts to hop around midnight and the party usually lasts until at least 3 in the morning! The music is loud, and the dancing is crazy. This is definitely the place to go if you are looking for a late night wild party.
The party scene is constantly changing and shifting on Roatan and new crowds of tourists flock to new bars and clubs, that is what makes partying on Roatan so much fun. Write in to tell me about your favorite bar/drink/bartender, and give a shout out to the people who make partying on Roatan the best.

The cabanas in the West End are owned by the same family that owns Foster’s West Bay. The bar/restaurant, while carrying the Foster’s name, are independent. Under new ownership since September, 2009, the new Foster’s West End Pier will be opening in March, 2010 for Santa Semana after extensive renovations! Stay tuned.
Hello, The bar pictured above is Foster’s Bar and Grill, which we purchased in September, 2009. Following an extensive renovation, we reopened as “Foster’s West End Pier” in March, 2010 for Santa Semana. We will be opening the restaurant portion in May, 2010.
We lease the structure from the Foster’s of West Bay. The business, however, is not related. Come visit us!
I am visiting Roatan in August. I would like to visit you.
I would like to take the number 2 bus from Coxen Hole and also
take the water taxi from West End to Tabyana Beach.
Could you tell me how much is the bus fare and also the water taxi fare and does the bus accept US Dollars?
Thank you
Maurice
